Playa Panama
This sleepy little enclave is located just minutes from Liberia's Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport and facilitates access from abroad or elsewhere in Costa Rica and makes it a popular place to buy Costa Rica property. The road from Liberia to Panama is well-paved and allows seamless travel.
Most of Playa Panama has not been developed. There is a small pueblito, or town, tucked back behind the beach surrounded by tall hills on both sides and has very little to offer in the way of commercial enterprises. The smooth grainy sand of Panama Beach in Guanacaste is great for lying down, relaxing and soaking up the sun or just hanging out under the Palm trees. With its position on south east side of Bahia Culebra, Panama's waters are fantastic for swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, sailing, fishing and many other fun water activities, the conditions are idyllic. The ocean tides are often low and the break is calm. Additionally, the Papagayo region's abundance of great weather makes this beach a great location to take a long leisurely walk as the beach is over two and half kilometers long.
Once a very remote and hard to reach beach with almost nothing in way of development, Playa Panama has changed over the past few decades as the Papagayo region continues to grow with new developments. With only a few developments of upscale single family custom homes and well thought out stylish condominiums this is still a very quiet place to get away from it all and still be connected.
The addition of a splendid gem, The Four Seasons Resort, is complete with its own first-class golf course, designed by Arnold Palmer and not to leave out the full service 300 slip Papagayo Marina. Unlike certain places in Mexico, where there are towers staked next to each other along the coastline, the Costa Rica government has dedicated this area for luxury resorts while keeping the natural beauty of the area intact. One of the best parts of Playa Panama is the beautiful views that overlook the north cusp of Bahía Culebra. The Papagayo Project, with its anchor of the Four Seasons Resort, is a sprawling development of 2,300-acres and $400 million worth of luxurious hotel accommodations, sits in plain view.
Playa Panama is within close proximity to Hermosa Beach and Playas del Coco and a short ten minute drive away on a paved road. There are numerous national parks in the region including the famous Rincon de la Vieja National Park , Palo Verde National Park and Santa Rosa National Park all within a short drive.
